One of the best activities that you would look forward to as a kid was roasting marshmallows. It’s fun to roast marshmallows while camping, and many people would use those roasted marshmallows to make s’mores.
You might be interested in roasting some marshmallows now, but you don’t necessarily have access to a campfire at the moment. This could lead you to the idea of roasting marshmallows over a simple candle.

Of course, it’s not going to be as simple to get the whole family involved unless you have multiple candles. Candles are small and you’re only going to have room to roast one marshmallow at a time.
Regardless, you now know that you can do this without it being an issue. All you need to do is get some type of wooden skewer to use to hold the marshmallow over the candle’s flame.

Some flip lighters are designed to stay on for longer periods of time since they’re designed differently. You could probably use a lighter with that design to roast a marshmallow a bit easier.
You might have a lighter that is used to light charcoal grills somewhere in your kitchen cupboards. One of those would be easy enough to utilize when you’re trying to roast just a couple of marshmallows.
It might not be comfortable or convenient to use a lighter for this purpose, but it can be done. If you only have a lighter to work with, then you can still roast marshmallows.
2 – You Could Roast Marshmallows on Your Stove
Another way that you could roast marshmallows at home involves using your stove. If you have a gas stove, then you could roast marshmallows by holding the marshmallow over the flame.
This is going to be the same concept as using a candle. The only difference is that you’ll want to try your best not to get marshmallow matter on the burner.
Stick your marshmallow with a wooden skewer and then start roasting it over the flame. You can also use a metal skewer if you want to, and it might be best to wear gloves if you want to be as safe as possible.
You might not find this to be the most convenient way to roast marshmallows honestly. It’ll be necessary to remove the coils from your gas stove to get the marshmallow close enough to the flame.
While that isn’t hard to do, it’s just not as easy as using a candle. If you have a choice, then lighting a candle and roasting the marshmallows that way will be easier.

This is probably the best idea that you can turn to if you want to roast marshmallows easily. So long as you have an outdoor grill that you can use this will be a great idea.
There might even be enough space for your partner or a friend to roast a marshmallow alongside you. This might depend on just how big your outdoor grill is, though.
4 – Microwaves Are an Option Too
Using your microwave to roast marshmallows is also something that can work out. However, it’s not going to be exactly the same as roasting a marshmallow over an open flame.
Essentially, you can use a microwave to heat the marshmallow and get it prepared to be used in s’mores recipes. It’s easy to place a marshmallow on a graham cracker and just let it microwave for a few seconds.
Depending on how powerful your microwave is, it’ll get the marshmallow ready in either a few seconds or a little longer. Just remember that this might not be the same as roasting a marshmallow over an open flame.
Some people would even say that microwaving a marshmallow is a poor substitute for roasting it properly. It might depend on exactly how you like your roasted marshmallows to turn out.
5 – Use a Kitchen Torch
Some people are very fancy and they have special kitchen tools that allow them to roast things quite easily. You might have a kitchen torch that is used to make special dishes or brown the top of certain things.
If you have access to a kitchen torch, then it’s going to be perfect for roasting marshmallows. You can easily use the torch to roast a marshmallow evenly on all sides.
You’ll want to skewer the marshmallow on a metal skewer when you’re going this route. Next, you’ll just need to take your time roasting it how you want to.
Once the job is done, you’ll be able to utilize your perfectly roasted marshmallows to make s’mores. This will be sure to please the entire family and you’ll be glad that you bought that kitchen torch.
People who are really into making s’mores might want to go out of their way to buy one of these. Kitchen torches aren’t all that costly and they will come in handy for quite a few things.
